UPA-II Report Card: A Common Man's View

This May, UPA-II completes two years of governance. Our Worthy Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and The Indian National Congress might boast of for what they have achieved on the Economic Front and at the International Forums during the course of these two years of UPA-II regime. Let it be the Recession Shielded Economy or the remarkable defence deals, PM might also boast about the healthy and sound relations with the International community but the question to the Government and the readers is “Do these figures and facts really matter to the Common Man?" The common man who is pathetically crushed under the burden of High Inflation rates and for whom managing the kitchen’s budget has become a hard nut to crack. In this fast paced life where people find it difficult to cope up even with the basic necessities of life, the ever Rising Inflation is an Inevitable Liability. At the pace with which rates have been increasing, it's actually difficult to maintain the hand to mouth situation as well. How does the definition of DEMOCRACY seem correct here? It's an IRONY when we say "It's the Government for the People".

After the sweeping results of 15th Lok Sabha Elections in favour of The INC, Political Pundits forecasted a much powerful and stable UPA-II which was free from back-dragging and dominating Left Front. But UPA-II seems to have badly failed on many fronts. Despite of having many Bigwig Economists and Able Administrators, Government has failed to tame the Inflation named Ghost. Any Government can bring the Economic Reforms but transforming the economy without hurting and affecting the common man should be the target of the so-called statesmen studded UPA-II. The Common Man is still held back by the clutches of various social and economic issues which are surely a part of the country's progress. A country can any day not be called Developed if the barrier between the richies and the poor people can't be set back on a decent scale. Lack of transparency and control over the government and Cabinet is another issue which should be haunting our PM Manmohan Singh. He might be a respected PM but certainly not a loved one anymore. He seems to be doing and portraying his work under an influence which is not acceptable at the sake of the country's progress. Multi-crore scams, corruption, black-money are the various issues to which our prime minister owes a reply to the nation. Multi-billion dollar 2G scam, ISRO-Devas Deal which happened under the nose of PM accuses him for the lack of control over his cabinet and puts light on the increasing hunger and depleting conscience of our politicians.

How non-serious our government is on the Corruption issue can be judged from the fact when A Common Man Anna Hazare started the Mass Movement for The Jan Lokpal Bill. Our so called government took no time to raise fingers on Anna’s clean image and dignity and tried to malign the non-violent and clean movement in the modern world. All possible efforts were put into action to suppress the Able man's Worthy attempt. It seems government isn’t interested at all to tackle such serious issues and wants the whole nation to go corrupt so that people lose the morality to question the government on its wrong doings. This paves the way for every single individual to take upon corruption as a Birthright. How can this lead to our dreams of seeing our country as a developed nation? When everyone knows Jan Lokpal Bill can tighten the noose around corruption and the corrupts then why the government seems to be so reluctant about it? Why a common man had to shake the government and tell it to do something to tame the corruption when we already have so called wise men in the cabinet? Here the concept of the Cabinet seems like a useless deal. When these so called worthy people have been elected to bring a change, why do we need a man amongst the common masses to come up and explain them what their work is? Who puts in their jammed heads that issues like these are their responsibilities and cannot be removed from the core until and unless the system does something awakening.

Government also boasts of providing Employment to the Poor through "NREGA". But have their wages increased as much as the Food Inflation has soared since July 2009?? In the last two years petrol prices have been hiked by 55%. At this pace it gets difficult to imagine, rather out of feasible mental attributes to what will petro-based fuels cost at the end of UPA-II regime. This time Congress Ka Haath certainly Not Garib Ke Saath. Conclusively, the government has undoubtedly failed in a big regard to make any revolutionary changes for the betterment of the poor which is the need of the hour. On the contrary, the picture seems to have been going down the ladder at a badly poor and declining rate. If the scenario continues at such a steep rate, the poor masses are certainly expected to undergo even more miserable living conditions.

Countdown For CWG Delhi Begins

With just 14 days left for the CWG 2010 Delhi will be called Open, CWG faces the challenges which we Indians have to respond to unitedly. First of all, Indian Cricket Team refused to participate in the games. Then, the irregularities in the accounts and corruption involvedin CWG Delhi came into the lime-light. Few days ago Haryanvi Jats threatened to disrupt the Queen's Baton Relay when it arrives the state.
Now, comes the case of firing on Foriegn Tourists who had arrived New Delhi on Saturday Night to shoot for a Television Program. Whosoever is behind this attack but it puts a question mark on the Security arrangements of Foriegn Tourists who visit New Delhi For CWG. Clearly it does not send a good signal to the International Community.
India is hosting a grand event nearly after 3 decades and our pride is at stake and we cant let our enemies beat us.

Media: The Meek Spectator

Electronic Media: The Fastest mode of communication, the most efficient, the most reliable and the most viewed. Media-men keep us updated to all the happenings across the world, capturing every moment in the multi pixel high resolution cameras. Even capturing those moments which give goose-bumps to us, shake our hearts and souls. These cameramen and media-men get so busy with their work that sometimes they even forget “Humanity”. They forget they have some moral and social responsibilities too. Rather they act as mute spectators to what happens around them. I’m not targeting them under attack nor do I have any enmity with rather I question the integrity and duties of those who cry for human rights, question others’ dignity, lambast many personalities and what not.
Today, A known News channel aired a video showing an innocent man being beaten up brutally by a bunch of hypocrite policemen and media-men moving around the scene shooting footage, why did not they save him and his family from the wrath of those policemen? Just because to cover the story and gain TRPs?
Few years ago, a man from Patiala burnt himself in a protest in the middle of the road in front of glaring cameras of reporters who aired the footage live on TVs. Had they kept their cameras and mic away for a while and they could have saved the life of the person on whom many lives were dependant.
Stop just crying for your rights. Wake up to your moral and social duties.

Innocence

"The crystal clear love, the purity of heart, the sweetness that overpowers all ,needs a desperate call "
The world is different today.THE MODERN AGE is what its called. yet it is so devoid of the virtues like love and innocence. So many poets talk of the transient nature of beauties of earth yet no one talks of the long lost innocence which makes living beings worth calling humans. We see a three year old child being exploited by his/her own parents for the sake of money. All these daily dramas are wiping out every trace of value left amongst us.

"I wanted to be innocent,i wanted not to grow,i hate this life of misery where i find myself mean, always just wanted to be a happy carefree teen.Wound upon wound is inflicted and it never ever heals,I feel tired and somewhat lost and hate to pretend that I am a compassionate human being"

Dint the lines make u realize that you are not what you wanted to be?Or even if you think your life is perfect just listen to your heart again and it never lies.At some stage of life we would all want to be kids again ,innocent as flowers, unaware of sorrows but the time never takes a back turn.So why are we taking away the best time of those little ones just for the sake of money or name and fame?

"Guilt, guilt and this nasty feeling of guilt....Would I ever be able to come out of it?Oh! melancholy... This is the place where I was supposed to find a heavenly abode but all i find is myself burdened under this filthy guilt"

We can easily say we cant change the world alone... and its easier to say i give up.. But is there a harm in trying to change ourselves for the better lovely way of life? One would try and the group impact would be worth the try...JUST THINK ABOUT IT...

MASKS OFF,BE YOURSELF

SHOW-OFF is the key word today...Hardly we find a person who conducts himself or herself the way he/she actually is. It is all about the so called STATUS or position(may be fake as well) what matters to an indvidual these days. Gone are those days when simplicity could win hearts. The world is changing for the worse. It has become more important to be in the limelight,no matter it may be because of some wrong reasons. SHOW-BIZZ is what strikes me here.
INTROSPECTION-analysing oneself in a true and required way is very important. We as human souls have to be pure and atleast honest to ourselves. However, its all the more contrary. We expect but do not give. We want others to change but how can we expect that if we dont do it to our ownselves first? For any revolution or a considerable change we require the change in us. What can we earn with a fake reputation? Just a mere temporary fame or few words of praise, which too is fake in itself. How about being original? The best way is to establish a position anywhere you go by the means of what you are and not by what others want you to be. Moreover god has chosen us for this precious gift-LIFE. So how can we go against his will and be what we actually aren't?
Thereby Introspection is must. One should know one's innerself and be crystal clear to his her/conscience. Afterall the first and foremost key to success is being a good and a true human being.
Inorder to conform to present-day societal norms, most of us hide our real ourselves and instead project a fake identity to gain acceptance in our respective peer groups. We have become impostors of the elites and often end up trying to conform to their requisite'styles and attitudes'. However, instead of simplifying our lives, these masks have only complicated matters. A contradiction between our true self and the other self ensues within, which may create disorder in life. Hence,it is always better to be one's real self rather than worrying about others. Afterall,a person true to himself gains respect everywhere.
